The descent of Prince George thru some noble and royal houses are sometimes innumerable, but what I will try is to trace the shortest possible descent from the earliest known progenitor of that house and the patrilineal descent thru the nearest ancestor of Prince George (say how he descends from the house of Wettin thru QEII, his great grandmother). I tried to list them as I came across some genealogical sites (such as Roglo and Leo).
Our first stop is from the royal House of Oldenburg since Prince George descend patrilineally from this house, currently this house is sitting on the throne of Denmark & Norway, consort to QEII and in the future will be King of UK (thru Prince Charles, William and George). Officially the current royal family of UK belongs to the House of Windsor but patrilineally the Queen is from the House of Wettin, but her descendants belongs to Oldenburg thru Prince Philip.
Prince George descends in 28 generations from Egilmar I (1040-1112), the first confirmed ancestor of Oldenburg, as below.
This is the shortest I can trace (this is from Roglo).
From Leo it takes only 27 generations to reach Prince George, some discrepancy on father of Maurice/Moritz.
Patrilineally though Prince George descends from Egilmar in 30 generations (from Roglo), while in 29 generations from Leo's list.
This list is from Roglo.
This list is from Leo.
According to Roglo site, Prince George relationship with Egilmar II (son of Egilmar I) can be traced in 141,137 ways.

UK - The Queen & Her Consort
Queen Elizabeth II's patrilineal descent is from the House of Wettin, while her husband Prince Philip is from the House of Oldenburg. The earliest connection between these two houses is when in 1478 Christine, Herzogin von Sachsen (b. 1461) of Wettin married Hans, King of Denmark and Norway (b. 1455) of Oldenburg. Both of them (the queen & the prince) descended from this marriage but the queen has a shorter descent in 14 generations while it's 15 for the Prince.
Below are their descent thru Christine & King Hans.
14 generation descent of QEII.

15 generation descent of Prince Philip.

Their nearest common ancestors are Christian IX, King of Denmark 1863-1906 and Luise, Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel. The Queen is a great-great-granddaughter of King Christian, while the Prince is a great-grandson of the King. Below are their descent.

From Queen Victoria & Prince Albert, they are 3rd cousins the queen being a great-grand daughter of King Edward who is a brother to Princess Alice who is the great grand mother of Prince Philip. Below are their descent from Queen Victoria (from the House of Welf/Este) & Prince Albert (from the House of Wettin).

In 9 generations both The Queen and The Prince descends from John William Friso, who is by the words of Wikipedia "John William Friso and his wife are the most recent common ancestors to all currently reigning European monarchs. This is a distinction he has held since 1938, when Franz Joseph II -a descendant of John William Friso, succeeded Franz I - who was not a descendant, as Prince of Liechtenstein". Below are their descent from JWF.
